DESCRIPTION
In a globalized world, heritage crafts hold unique cultural value. Bahrain has seen a craft revival by fostering collaboration in craft, art, and design, creating new opportunities for creativity. As a coastal culture, Bahrain produces maritime crafts like boats, sailors' garments, and fishing nets. Its freshwater resources support palm groves and rush plants for basketry and home furnishings. Natural resources like clay and gypsum contribute to pottery and architectural carvings, while a rich history of metalworking and goldsmithing yields intricate jewelry and ceremonial items. This volume, with informative text and original photography, showcases Bahrain's diverse handicrafts, celebrating its cultural heritage and inspiring future artisans globally.
